In order to keep the Mandate for Art in the Park strong in the face of overwhelming demand from artists and limited space, we have had to tighten up our guidelines for participation in the event.
Please note: Even if you have been in Art in the Park before you will need to refer to these guidelines as they may have changed in reference to your discipline.
|
PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE APPLYING: We do not accept anyone selling any kind of mass-produced goods (this includes imported bags, clothes or jewellery). All goods MUST be HAND-MADE by the REGISTERED vendor. Makers will be "juried" relative to
the integrity, originality, level of craftsmanship and artistic merit
of their work. |
Art in the Park respects and admires much of the work we have had in our festival over the years that may not meet our new guidelines. There are many other venues available to these makers who are selling work produced in multiples, repeats or reproductions of a commercial nature. The jury will accept or reject applicants on technical criteria not aesthetic judgement. This will ensure that Art in the Park maintains its mandate
ALL APPLICANTS MUST SUBMIT:
1. 3 digital photo files of the work you intend to present (Plain background,
1 detail) - preferably emailed
to us.
2. Your completed application

Registration is for single artists only. Only exhibitors with collaborative work will be permitted to share a space. Collaborative implies that more than one artist has worked on a single piece.

As a participant in Art in the Park 2006, I agree to the following:
1) I, the artist, will be responsible for my own cash transactions including
any sales tax that may apply.
2) I, the artist, waive any responsibility to the organizers of Art in the
Park and the City of Ottawa for any injury, loss or theft of, or damage to
anything I bring into the park from June 3, 2006 through June 4, 2006.
3) I, the artist, agree to pay the appropriate registration fee according
to the attached table. I understand the registration fee is non-refundable
in the event of cancellation by either party after the May 1st 2006.
4) I, the artist, understand that a space will be assigned to me according
to the category I picked and the fees specified in the fee chart. I understand
that the assigned spaces are non-negotiable.
5) I, the artist, agree that all articles for sale will be handmade by the
vendor. I will offer for sale no work from commercially pre-fabricated kits,
nor commercially mass-produced goods, etc. I agree to be present on both days
of the event.
6) I, the artist understand that if I set up in the morning I am committed
to staying until 5pm. Anyone leaving early will be barred from participating
in the future.
