Welcome to The New Art Festival 2009!
This year’s festival will take place on Saturday, June 6th and Sunday, June 7th from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Central Park, the Glebe, Ottawa (Bank Street at Clemow Avenue, just South of the Queensway).
Formerly known as Art in the Park, The New Art Festival is Ottawa’s largest non-profit, non-commercial outdoor art exhibition. To honour our art community and all its hard-working artists and craftspeople, this year’s festival will be fully juried. The event will remain in the Glebe district’s beautiful Central Park and will continue to offer free admission in a family-friendly environment. It will also feature organic food providers from the community. This year, prizes will be awarded for Best 2-Dimensional Artist, Best 3-Dimensional Artist and Best Student Artist, as selected by The New Art Festival’s 2009 jury. The New Art Festival is a place where you can see original art and meet the artists.
Originally conceived by Bhat Boy in 1993 as an event to provide opportunities for up and coming artists, this annual event now draws thousands of visitors and participants from across Canada and around the world. The New Art Festival will continue to offer a unique experience for artists and art lovers alike. The Art in the Park Festival Community is a registered Ontario not-for-profit corporation run for artists by artists.
